The flag of Sardinia, was originally linked to the Crown of Aragon, and was to represent the Spanish Reconquista against the Moors who occupied most of the Iberian peninsula, it is made from the cross of St. George, also a symbol of the crusaders who fought the Moors in the same Holy Land, and the four severed heads of four major victories represented by the Catalan-Aragon in Spain, respectively the reconquest of Zaragoza, Valencia, Murcia and the Balearic Islands.

Especially in villages in pastoral economy relatives were preparing for this event. The dying man was lying on a mat by the fire and awaited death witnessed by relatives and women who usually attended to.

incendio villacidro 2010Martedi 13 luglio, verso le ore 13, nelle pendìci del Monte Omo che sovrasta Villacidro, scoppiava un violento incendio che colpiva un sito già enormemente colpito da un precedente incendio accaduto il 29 e 30 agosto del 2007.
